Is Your Aircond Low on Gas?
Not Cold Enough
Room takes forever to cool down or never reaches the set temperature even on the coldest setting.
Ice Forming on Pipes
Ice or frost forming on the copper refrigerant pipes or the indoor unit coil — a clear sign of low gas pressure.
Keeps Needing Top-Up
If you top up gas and it runs out again within months, there is a leak — topping up without fixing it is wasted money.
Compressor Running Non-Stop
Low refrigerant makes the compressor work harder to compensate — it runs constantly and drives up your electricity bill.
Error Codes on Display
Many units (Daikin, Mitsubishi, etc.) will show a specific error code when refrigerant pressure drops below normal.
Hissing Sound
A faint hissing or bubbling sound near the unit, especially when the compressor is running, often indicates a leak point.
Our Equipment & Method
We use two methods depending on the situation — infrared detector scan first, followed by a pressure test if no leak is visually found.
Detector
Step-by-Step Process
Check Gas Pressure & Inspect System
Connect manifold gauges to measure current refrigerant pressure. Inspect the system for visible signs of oil staining, frost, or corrosion — common indicators of the leak location.
Infrared Gas Leak Detector Scan
Sweep the infrared electronic leak detector along all pipe joints, indoor unit connection points, flare fittings, and the outdoor condenser valve stems to detect refrigerant gas escaping from any point in the system.
Leak Found — Repair & Recharge
If the leak point is found, we repair or re-flare the fitting, re-vacuum the system, and recharge with the correct refrigerant (R32 or R410A) to manufacturer-specified pressure.
If Leak Not Found — Proceed to Pressure Test
If the infrared scan finds no visible leak, we proceed to a full nitrogen pressure test. The system is evacuated and charged with dry nitrogen gas to 650 PSI.
650 PSI Pressure Hold — 1 Week
Both indoor cooling coil and outdoor condenser are tested simultaneously at 650 PSI. Pressure gauges are left on and checked after 1 full week — any pressure drop confirms a leak.
Results & Next Steps
If pressure holds — system is confirmed sealed, we recharge refrigerant and you're done. If pressure drops — leak is confirmed and we identify the section (coil or condenser) for repair or replacement.

Before You Book
Q.Why 650 PSI? My unit runs at much lower pressure.
650 PSI is a standard high-pressure nitrogen test — it's much higher than normal operating pressure (R32 runs at ~170 PSI, R410A at ~200 PSI) so any micro-leak that might not show under normal conditions will reveal itself. This is the industry-standard way to confirm system integrity.
Q.Why does the test take 1 week?
A very small leak will only cause a measurable pressure drop over time. Checking after 1 week gives a definitive result — a same-day check can miss slow leaks that would cause problems within months.
Q.Can I still use my aircond during the pressure test?
No — the refrigerant is evacuated and the system is filled with nitrogen during the test period. You will not be able to use the unit for approximately 1 week while the test is running.
Q.What happens if the leak is in the cooling coil?
Cooling coil leaks are usually caused by formicary corrosion (from formic acid in the air reacting with copper). In most cases the coil needs to be replaced — we will advise and quote on this after the test confirms the location.
Q.Do you service all brands?
Yes — Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Midea, Acson, York, Carrier, Haier, Gree, and more. The gas leak detection and pressure test process is brand-independent.
